Holly Neber transitions from president to CEO, while Paul Hinkston is promoted to COO. Craig Hertz, who founded the company and led AEI as CEO for 24 years, assumes new role as Chairman of the Board.
WALNUT CREEK, Calif., August 4, 2016 — AEI Consultants, a leading environmental assessment and engineering firm that provides commercial lenders and property owners with consulting expertise and services, announced several well-deserved promotions of key executive team members. The appointments set the course for continued long-term growth, while recognizing the positive contributions of Ms. Neber and Mr. Hinkston, who have held numerous roles of increasing responsibility within the company. In his new role as chairman, Mr. Hertz will continue to deliver entrepreneurial passion and creativity to the organization.
“It’s a real pleasure to announce these appointments,” said Craig Hertz, chairman of AEI Consultants. “Both Paul and Holly joined AEI Consultants in 1999 as project managers, and earned their current roles by wearing the many hats required in a fast-growing company. Having served in many of the roles within the company, they view leadership as service within AEI’s culture of employee owners.”
Holly Neber: CEO. As president of the firm since 2009, Ms. Neber led the company to 15 percent year-on-year growth by expanding AEI’s service offerings to include energy-efficiency consulting, construction loan reporting, zoning analysis reporting, and ALTA surveys. She is an active and respected member of the commercial real estate industry, both as a board member of the CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Network, and affiliate member of the Environmental Bankers Association (EBA). Ms. Neber was named among RealShare’s California Women of Influence in 2015, and Bisnow’s Bay Area Power Women in 2016.
“AEI is my passion and my community, and it’s been rewarding to be part of the firm’s expansion and rise in prominence over the last 17 years,” said Holly Neber, CEO of AEI Consultants. “I am proud and excited to take this next step in my leadership path, and thankful for Craig’s mentorship and support.”
Paul Hinkston: COO. Mr. Hinkston’s leadership journey within AEI has involved crisscrossing the United States to drive and support the firm’s growth. He moved from Los Angeles to New York/New Jersey in 2004 to open AEI’s Jersey City office, now one of AEI’s strongest regions with over 25 staff. In 2013, he moved to Northern California to serve initially as regional director of AEI’s northern California offices, and then assuming oversight of 20+ offices around the country.
“Over the last 17 years, AEI has provided me with unique opportunities to develop and hone my skills, and to prepare me for this new role” said Paul Hinkston, COO of AEI Consultants. “As we face growing demand for our services, I have enormous confidence in the extremely talented group of people here at AEI.”
Both Ms. Neber and Mr. Hinkston will be based in AEI’s Walnut Creek headquarters.
