We, at AEI, are always excited to celebrate this day with our fellow environmental enthusiasts. Earth Day is an annual reminder of how precious our natural resources are and a chance to express our gratitude by giving back. This year AEI Consultants will be doing our part by making a donation to The Ocean Cleanup. The non-profit foundation was created to help solve the increasing issue of plastic in our aquatic environments.
On top of supporting environmental initiatives, AEI is making a pledge to support a cleaner future with our Renewable Energy Division. We believe that renewable energy provides a sustainable path forward to a brighter and cleaner future for all. Our efforts tie into Solar & Wind Development, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and 3rd Party Peer Reviews. Small Town Making a Big Impact
If you’ve ever driven through Moss Landing, CA you’ve undoubtedly seen the iconic smoke stacks. This small town is known for its serpentine sloughs, quaint harbor, and is home to the famous Phil’s Fish Market. Recent development at the famous power plant is making big headlines, giving Moss Landing the title of possessing one of the largest BESS in the world, generating 300MW / 1,200MWh.
The facility consists of 4,500 stacked battery racks, which are housed inside the refurbished power plant building. A BESS of this size and scale is something entirely new, and will play a pivotal role in serving as a model for battery storage in our nations push for Renewable Energy projects.
Fleet Vehicle Electrification
We’ve heard of them, we’ve seen them, and some of us even have them. What’s that you may ask? Electric Vehicles (EV). Growth driving EV has been linked to electric buses and fleet vehicles, both of which are expected to play a significant role in the proliferation of EV in the US. You can learn more on this topic at the podcast interview with Managing Director of Nomura Greentech, John McClure. Listen here.
What does this mean for AEI, and our clients?
Higher demand for EV means cleaning up and retrofitting existing vehicle stations, working with existing financial clients, and working to institute BESS for reliable charging stations.
