WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Jan. 8th, 2025 – AEI Consultants (AEI), is proud to announce the formal establishment of our Radon Division, further solidifying our decades-long commitment to providing comprehensive radon assessment and mitigation services. This division enhances our ability to meet the growing demand for radon expertise, driven by expanding state regulations and evolving client needs.
For years, we have delivered radon services as part of our environmental consulting offerings. The creation of a dedicated division allows us to provide even greater focus and resources to support property owners, lenders, and facility managers in addressing radon risks.
At AEI, we understand that radon is a significant concern for property stakeholders. This odorless, colorless gas poses serious health risks and is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. Identifying and mitigating radon risks is critical to protecting occupant health, ensuring compliance, and preserving property value.
AEI’s Comprehensive Suite of Radon Services
Our Radon Division offers a full range of services, including:
• Short-term and long-term radon testing
• Follow-up and post-mitigation testing
• State and lender compliance consultation
• Tailored mitigation solutions
Leading our Radon division is Laura Mathys, supported by Gareth Wood for coordination and bidding and Ron Melchior for technical expertise. This team brings a wealth of experience and technical knowledge, ensuring our clients receive the highest quality guidance and solutions for navigating radon regulations.
Proven Expertise Backed by Industry Standards
Our radon professionals are certified by the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) and adhere to U.S. EPA Radon Standards of Practice developed by the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST). We utilize advanced short-term and long-term “charcoal liquid scintillation” testing kits for accurate radon level readings, ensuring our assessments meet rigorous industry standards.
With extensive knowledge of federal and state-specific requirements, as well as agency scopes like Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD, we guide clients through the complexities of compliance. Our detailed reports provide clear, actionable insights, including next steps for confirmatory testing or mitigation. When radon levels exceed EPA guidelines, we offer customized mitigation solutions that can effectively lower radon concentrations, providing long-term safety and compliance for occupants and property stakeholders.
Whether assessing properties for environmental due diligence, HUD compliance, or industrial hygiene needs, our goal is to provide seamless and reliable solutions that reduce risk, enhance safety, and maintain regulatory compliance.
